The Sullivan County Dramatic Workshop's 2004 Season continues with Neil Simon's beautiful and poignant “Brighton Beach Memoirs” directed by Lori Schneider-Wendt .

Lori Schneider-Wendt of Hurleyville directs a stunning cast of local residents. Julie Rowner, of Monticello, a long time associate of the Dramatic Workship, plays Kate. Jacob Tanenbaum, a student at the Hebrew Day School of Kiamesha portrays Eugene. The role of Blanche is played by Fallsburg Councilwoman Ann Prusinski. Jack is played by John Ambrosi of Woodbourne. The role of Nora is performed by Rachel Kurtz. Fallsburg Central High School student Sean O'Neill plays Stan. And the role of Laurie is played by another FCHS student, Jamee Bockman, of Hurleyville.

Meet the Jerome Family of Brighton Beach in the Borough of Brooklyn. It's 1937, and the world is on the brink of another war – a war that threatens to consume the Jerome relatives still living in Europe. That is part of the stress in Jack and Kate Jerome's life. Money is tight and Jack is forced to work a second job to help support Kate's sister, Blanche, and her two daughters. Jack and Kate's sons, Stanley and Eugene, are more concerned about what's going on in their own worlds. And, that is the setting for Neil Simon's “Brighton Beach Memoirs,” a slice-of-family-life comedy/drama soon to be presented by the Sullivan County Dramatic Workshop.

“Brighton Beach Memoirs” runs July 17, 23, 24 at 8pm and July18, 25 at 2pm at the fully air-conditioned Nartoff-Wells Auditorium in the Rivoli Theater, South Fallsburg. General admission is $15 for adults, $12 for seniors and students 16 & under. For additional information or group rates, please phone 436-6309 or 434-7232.
