Sullivan County Dramatic Workshop
Would Love to Give You a GIFT!
We know you enjoy live theatre and we’d like to send you FREE TICKETS for our 2011 Season
For sixty-one years, the Sullivan County Dramatic Workshop, Inc. (SCDW) has served our community with quality live performances. In 2010, greater numbers than ever of area residents and visitors enjoyed our shows which were received with critical acclaim. Several of our productions, two actors and one director were voted “Best of 2010” in the entire Hudson Valley in a poll of readers of the Times Herald Record.
In 1998, the SCDW purchased the Rivoli Theatre in South Fallsburg, New York, a 1923 Art Deco Theatre that has been granted Landmark Status in the National Registry of Historic Places. The Rivoli has seen Vaudeville come and go and given generations of movie goers many happy hours. Our ambitious dream to restore the theatre is well underway. In the past few years, the Workshop has invested nearly $25,000 to refurbish both the inside and outside of the theatre. Now we must address another major issue - the decaying marquee and vertical "blade" sign. (See photos below!)

SCDW 2011 Season
At one time, the Rivoli was the jewel of Main Street, South Fallsburg with its neon vertical
‘R I V O L I’ and bright lights beckoning patrons from miles around.
Over the years, the marquee at the Rivoli has continued to deteriorate, with broken and dangerous lighting sockets, corroded steel in the neon blade and marquee and electrical short circuits throughout. We have made repairs over the years (replacing the plexiglass, straightening the letter tracks, etc.) but the work still needed is beyond our ability.
Only with this opportunity from the NYS Office of Parks, Recreation and Historic Preservation and the support of contributors like you are we able to restore this jewel to its original splendor.

With much restoration of the theatre already complete, the marquee and blade sign refurbishment remains a major project.

Thank You for Your Generosity in Helping to Restore the Historic RIVOLI!
