Press Release
Great Cast in the Sullivan County Dramatic Workshop Production of Neil Simon's Barefoot in the Park.
The Sullivan County Dramatic Workshop is presenting the classic Neil Simon comedy Barefoot in the Park on June 11, 12, 18, 19 at 8 pm and June 13, 20 at 2 pm in the fully air-conditioned Nartoff-Wells Auditorium of the Rivoli Theater in South Fallsburg. The play is a gentle, but comic look at the early stages of marriage. Director Constance S. Slater has wisely kept the setting in the 60's and has also assembled an outstanding cast of actors with perfect timing for a Simon play.
The play takes place on the top floor apartment of a brownstone without an elevator on East 48th Street, New York. Corie (Amanda Galigher Langseder of Wurtsboro) and Paul (Karl Spoerri of Honesdale, PA) are newleyweds and this is their first apartment. The husband and wife are as opposite as night and day. Other characters are Corie's mother (Lorelei Reynolds of Liberty) and Victor Velasco (Albee Bockman of Hurleyville) as the odd upstairs neighbor. A minor, but highly comic character appears as the telephone man (Scott Griffith of Southfield). The Lord & Taylor delivery man (Mike Gastwirth of Liberty) rounds out this fast-paced, fun-packed play.
Tickets for Barefoot in the Park are $15
for adults, $12 for seniors and students. For group rates or information, phone 436-6309 or 434-7232.
