About Plays in Development!
Do you have directing experience? A burning desire to give directing a try? We’d love to have you join us!
The Sullivan County Dramatic Workshop is planning our annual Plays in Development series! This year's series will include six short plays, ranging in length from 5 minutes to 16 minutes, written by local playwrights from Sullivan, Orange and Ulster counties. Now SCDW is looking for individuals interested in directing those short plays. Whether you are experienced, or excited to give directing a try for the first time, this is a great opportunity to get involved!
Plays will be presented in a staged-reading format with scripts in hand. Actor auditions are planned for mid-April with performances slated for May 8, 9, and 10. After each performance, to help playwrights further develop their scripts, the audience will be invited to give feedback and constructive criticism. Rehearsals will be minimal, as will the black-box set.
Potential directors will read the chosen plays, pick their favorite and participate in general auditions. To express your interest or to get any needed clarification, please contact Jean Eifert or Peter Nastasi by March 30th. We had a great time last year with excellent audience feedback. We hope you’ll join us at SCDW and take advantage of this exciting opportunity!
About Plays in Development
Sullivan County Dramatic Workshop announces auditions for their upcoming Plays in Development Series. SCDW is looking for actors ranging in age from teens through seniors to perform with scripts in hand, no memorizing necessary! Seven plays by local playwrights Jean Eifert (Rock Hill), Brian Petti (Warwick), Anna Puleo (Harris), Judith Maidenbaum (Kauneonga Lake), and Margie Semilof (New Paltz) will be performed at the Rivoli Theater in South Fallsburg on May 8, 9 and 10th.

Actors are needed to perform a wide range of characters including a young man talking to the voice of ChatGPT, a couple getting ready for their 50th high school reunion and two spies meeting in a bar! Both comedic and dramatic roles are available.
Auditions will be held on Saturday, April 11th from 12 noon to 2:00pm and Sunday, April 12th from 6:00pm to 8:00pm at the Youth & Senior Center, 12 Laurel Ave. South Fallsburg. If you have experience, or have always wanted to give acting a try, take advantage of this exciting opportunity. Sullivan County Dramatic Workshop has been presenting award winning theater at the Rivoli in South Fallsburg for over 77 years. All are encouraged to join in this exciting adventure!
