Plays in Development – 2026 – Call for Scripts

Sullivan County Dramatic Workshop is seeking short plays, from five to thirty minutes, for its annual “Plays in Development” series. The theatre company is focused on showcasing local playwrights from Sullivan, Orange and Ulster counties. SCDW’s hope is for local talent to be featured and to give the community an interesting opportunity to view and comment on new plays. Pieces that are chosen may be directed by the author, a director of their choice, or one of SCDW’s resident directors. Auditions will be held at the Rivoli Theatre in South Fallsburg, in March. The deadline for submissions is February 25 th . These minimally staged readings will be

presented in May. After each performance, audience feedback will be encouraged for the authors, directors and actors. If you are interested in submitting a piece, submit a PDF of the play and include a cover letter and short author bio.
